18 Mar 2014 First Martyrdom Anniversary of Renowned Man of Letters Shaheed Ustaad Syed Sibt-e-Jafar Zaidi Commemorated........

Today is the first martyrdom anniversart of renowned scholar ,poet ,educationist and Zakir-e-Ahle-e-Bayt [AS] of Pakistan, Ustaad Syed Sibte Jafar Zaidi who was ruthlessly martyred by terrorists last year on 18th march 2013 near Arshi Chowk as he was returning from his college situated in liaquatabad where he was serving as the principal of the institution..

Sibt-e-Jafer Zaidi was a versatile personality having mastery over multifarious faculties of knowledge. Undoubtedly, he was an erudite intellectual with rare talents. He covered of wide gamut of knowledge as he was simultaneously a bachelors level degree holder in education besides being masters in Islamic studies and Urdu literature from a premier public sector institution in Karachi .
Besides, he possessed LLB Degree of law as well and extended valuable legal advice to those in need ,although he hardly had the time to practise the profession regularly. Shaheed had passed with flying colours public service commission examination which led him to prominent positions later on ,including the one where he was last serving.
His upbringing strongly reflected the religious credentials of his family ,his father Maulana Syed Ahmed Mian Zaidi was a well-known religious scholar as well as a great poet who composed a lot of poems in tribute to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his immaculate progeny(Peace Be Upon them ).
He was bestowed with a very mesmerizing voice and he was a true admirer of the final Prophet [PBUH] and His Holy Progeny.
Shaheed's poetry was not mere composition of words meant for receiving appreciation from the listeners alone, rather it was aimed at spreading the message of true Islam which was enunciated and explained by those who were the real successors of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) .
He skillfully crafted heart piercingly strong messages in such an unnoticeably sweet manner in his kalaam ,that no body else could have dared to put forth in this day and age and some of the numerous examples can be cited in reference for example .
Khums Dena Mawadat ki Ik Shart Hai, Aur na Dena Bhi Misl-e-Fidak hai Gunah! Haq-e-Sadaat-o-Zahra[SA] ke 'maqrooz' se ! Jab Tabarra Suna Tau Hansi Agayee!
His poetry had a strong tinge of satire on societal behaviours and especially the various situations which in his learned view needed to be drastically changed. In another famous Kalaam he mentions,
Mangni ,Shaadi ,Mehndi ,Valima ,Huzoor, Apni Khushyon mein Shamil Hai Fisq o Fujoor!
Had ye Hai Ghum Aur Khushi Ke Moqay pe Bhi! Din Ba Din horahay hain Shariyat se Duur!
Jinko Paas-e-Shariyat nahi hai Zara! Unka kia tazkira ,unka Shikwa Hi kia !
'Zahiran' Maula Jo Log Deendar Hain! Ap par hai ayaan unka sab maajra!
Such was Sibt-e-Jafar ,daring ,who never shied away from calling a spade a spade. He was precise ,balanced and had the exceptional capability to draft and craft the message in the most meaningful ways.
He was especially known for his wits ,during his live Mushairaas people always awaited for his off the cuff remarks and unforgettable 5 -10 minute beginning remarks which almost had become a hall mark of his personality over the years. Its fortunate and really a blessing of Almighty Allaah that many videos of his mushairas etc. are available online.
Once he humorously said, when nakirain [the two angels] would ask me as to who's my Imam , [I would say ] , yahaan aye un Imam ki Mohabbat mein hain . Sipah-e-Sahaba ko pata hai hamara Imam kaun hai ,apko nahi pata? . agar pata hai tau tajahul-e-arifanah ka ye moqa hai ?
His brave ,witty and aware comments always said it all in no un-certain terms .
The issues of Pakistani nation as well as that of Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan always made his heart bleed and he used his words sometimes in a manner unheard of in conventional poetry .

Syed Sibte Jafer Zaidi led a very simple life. He never showed any interest in the pomp and show of this material world. He had a simple living and high thinking.
The question arises why he was so simple and distant from worldly ostentations? The answer to this question lies in the knowledge he attained from real Islam explained and interpreted by the household of prophet.
Zindagi bhi Ataa Mere Maulaa ki Hai! Nemat-e-Maut bhi Un [AS] se Mansub Hai!
He believed well in the esoteric dimension of Islam which he actually inherited from his background of Shiite Islam but at the same time he never lost sight of external appearance of Islam as he was a true follower of Imam Khomeini (r.a) and Imam Khomeini repeatedly told that the way to unseen world went through the following of Shariah, that is the following of the Wilayat of divine jurisprudent. He explained this beatifully in a kalaam..
Marjaiyyat ,Azaadari Nemaat Hain! Ap hi inki Maula Hifaazat Karein!
This is why, Syed Sibte Jafer Zaidi attached a great importance to the evolving a society based on Islamic ethos. He wanted to see divine values rule over the muslim societies in general and Shiite societies in particular.
Until his martyrdom he expended all his energies, abilities and talents to make crystal-clear that without implanting divine values in human society, humanity can never enjoy the all-pervasive development and cannot reach its excellence.
A perverted system of governance always generates crimes and corruptions in the society. Unfortunately same is the case with the beloved country .
In such circumstances personalities like Sibte Jafar Zaidi aren't tolerated by the traders of death and destruction, as the morally bankrupt never hold the gentlemen in high esteem rather begin to harbour hostilities against the pious men like Sibt-e-Jafar Zaidi.

Consequently, yazidi terrorists mercilessly and brutally martyred Sibt-e-Jafar Zaidi nearly a year ago as he was returning from work .His martyrdom news literally spread throughout not just the city and the country like the proverbial wild fire. His mammoth namaz-e-janaza procession was one of the biggest turn outs of people of all hues and ages in Pakistan's history and received tremendous attention from various electronic and print media as the loss was so grave that every body spoke out and stood up for the man who always stood up for every oppressed.
Syed Sibt-e-Jafar Zaidi is the true embodiment of the Holy saying : Isht Saeeda ,Wa Mitta Faqeeda.

He had a special love for the message of martyrs and for the families and children of martyrs . He was among those who had wholeheartedly supported the efforts of Shaheed Foundation Pakistan with all his might from day one and always accorded top priority to the martyrs' families and children who loved listening to him in SFP's various programs.
Indeed ,courageours men like him are born in centuries . He was not just a talented person ,he was a genius in his own right ,for its said talent can hit an objective no one else can hit and genius hits the objective no one else can see .
He played an active role in bringing a transformation in the society and had a remarkable contribution in the paradigm shift of our individual and collective thoughts ,in an effort to bringing us closer and closer to Islamic ethos.
Wo Ban Ke Ashk Meri Chashm-e-Tar Mein Rehta Hai! Ajeeb Shakhs Hai Paani ke Ghar Mein Rehta Hai!
