Gilgit-Baltistan, a historically
distinct political entity near the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir, is located at the
junction of China, Central and South Asia, and Afghanistan.Gilgit-Baltistan and
the adjoining district of Chitral in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province are
surrounded by taliban and allied terrorist militant groups , from almost
all directions- i.e. from Afghanistan and the Southern Gorno-Badhakshan region
of Tajikistan in the west and north, to Xinjiang province of China and
Indian-Occupied Kashmir in the east, and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and FATA
regions of Pakistan in the south.
It is ideally situated for trade and commerce, its geography also makes it
vulnerable to spillover of conflicts from active militant movements in surrounding
areas in Afghanistan and Kashmir which have historically remained a battle
ground for the global arrogance due to her regional interests for being on the
cross-roads of emerging politically and economically powerful and independent
The permanent presence and footprint of the global arrogance on one
pretext or the other is the key to multitudes of regional conflicts as noted by
Pakistan's leading strategists and analysts, time and again.
Pakistan is home to one of the largest concentration of Shia Muslims and
Gilgit-Baltistan is a vibrant Shia-majority region in the country. Global
arrogance and satanic powers, fomented turmoil and fanned sectarian hatred in
the region with the assistance of their handpicked military dictator stooge especially
The first serious attack on Shia population is reported to have taken place in Gilgit in 1983.
In 1988, a systematic attack by nearly eighty thousand armed men
from the south comprising mainly of natives of Afghanistan and tribal
areas of north west frontier Pakistan resulted in the martyrdom of
hundreds of Shia muslims. Some local elements from adjoining
Chilas, Darel and Tangi also joined the armed lashkar to attack Shia muslims as
result of which several Shia villages were burnt down under the directions
of the then dictator, as the global arrogance and her stooges always saw the
vibrant and aware concentration of Shia as the biggest hurdle in the way of
their nefarious designs. The attack started on 17th May 1988.
The attackers reaching the outskirts of Gilgit without being stopped by
Shias from surrounding villages were massacred and
those who survived took refuge in Shia-dominated villages.
Shiites from villages such as Sai,Bunji,
Jaglote and Pari Bangla were forcibly expelled.
Next, Haramosh valley
was attacked to reach Baltistan where life and property was ransacked by the
attackers. The attackers also torched shuto village on
their way to Haramosh.
At the same time, another village named Jalalabad was attacked by militants. It
was defended by local villagers and volunteers from Nagar,
but after a day of heavy fighting, the attackers seized the village.
Jalalabad and Batkor villages were torched, while the authorities did not
The next attack was reported from Sakwar (a village just
outside Gilgit) and the village was eventually burnt down.
Regular state forces were also actively unleashed on the peaceful Shia
community according to some accounts and as a result hundreds of momineen
embraced martyrdom and their wealth and properties were destroyed. The
exact number is still unknown due to media clamp down.
It was the same time when similar assisted Lashkar Kashis were done by
the dictator using state machinery in other Shia dominated areas particularly
Lower Kurram and DI Khan etc. as well.
If that all was not just enough, demography of the Shia majority area was
deliberately and repeatedly tried to be changed.
Broad day light attacks like the ones in recent years Kohistan Chilas resulting
in blatant violation of the constitution of the sacred land and martyrdoms of
dozens of innocent momineen only served to further unmask the global arrogance
and her local stooges and increasing awareness of momineen vis-a-vis country's
Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan pays heartiest tributes to the beloved Martyrs of
Millat and it is due to their sacrifices that have given us the vision that
momineen enjoy i.e. shedding even the last drop of our blood in the protection
and defence of our beloved country from the onslaught of global arrogance and
her local stooges Insha'Allah.
Our shohada are our benefactors, we must remember each one of them, and keep
their memories alive. we must remember them individually and collectively
.Please recite a fateha for Shohada-e-Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan.
