,as we are celebrating Pakistan’s 70th independence day ,Shaheed
Foundation Pakistan extends our heartiest greetings and felicitations to all
the fellow countrymen on this blessed
occasion and pray that Pakistan achieves highest glories in the comity of
nations and meets the ideals ,envisioned for it by the country’s founding
also frequently referred to as ‘God-Gifted Country or mumlakat-e-Khudadad’
which is a perfect depiction of it’s importance ,indeed it is a Great gift of
Almighty Allah for the muslims of south east Asia. It however does not
imply, that the country was established effortlessly and without offering any
stories of sacrifices of our elders who struggled and fought their heart out
against the treacherous british regime to win for us our independence, are
indeed an integral part of this historic marvel that was born in 1947 on this
day and appeared on the geographical map of the world to be called ‘Pakistan’ –
the Land of Pure.
the English first set foot on our lands,it was the time when muslims were
ruling in sub-continent and broadly speaking the ruling junta had carved out a
reasonably good harmony among various religious and ethnic entities, this principle of coexistence was
one of the corner stones of the policy of various successive muslim dynasties,
which helped them govern the subcontinent, the English who were a rising global
power decided to take their territorial ambitions onwards and felt envious
towards a stable muslim governed region . Consequently, the British entered
subcontinent as traders in the form of east india company and were successful
in securing priviliges for themselves over time ,consolidated their foothold in
the subcontinent ,conspired and finally ousted the muslims from power and
gained control over the entire subcontinent.
situation naturally sparked reaction from muslims and some of the valiant
muslim rulers like Sultan Haider Ali ,Tipu Sultan and Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula put
up fierce resistance to the expansionist designs of the English, however, they
could not stop it,but embraced shahadat gloriously defending their values and
remain to this day an inspiration for millions of freedom loving and free
thinking people of the world.
the deteriorating overall political condition of once the ‘Great Britain’ and
it’s weakening hold over it’s colonies following second world war, most nations
found in this a blessing in disguise and began to strive harder to capitalize
on the opportunity for freedom thus created.
who were shrewd by nature and had special envy towards muslims because of the fact that muslims were the direct competitors from whom they had snatched power, still thought to
teach muslims a lesson ,by planning to transfer political power to Hindus which could have meant devastation
for muslims. Muslim leaders sensed the
conspiracy and under the able guidance of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah
advocated for the cause of establishment of a new country based on two nation
theory. The muslims of sub-continent rose above their petty differences of
schools etc, and rallied wholeheartedly for this cause as they had been already observing a
discriminatory behavior of the English elite and Hindu majority towards muslims
who were lagged behind in most fields were considered fit only for menial
labour work while the most prominent positions were occupied by Hindus which
had resulted in a kind of social imbalance . Hence the efforts and sacrifices
of the muslims of subcontinent finally were blessed with success when Pakistan
was established on 14th August 1947.
is interesting to note that most leaders who prominently were part of Pakistan
movement belonged to Maktab-e-Ahlulbayt[AS] while others as Allama Iqbal and
Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar who struggled for Khilafat movement revered
Ahlulbayt[AS] as their role models ,which is quite evident in their poetry and
speeches as they always highlighted the glorious and supreme sacrifices offered
by Ahlulbayt[AS] for upholding Islam’s universal human values.
leaders include the likes of Raja Sahib Mahmoodabad who had given Quaid-e-Azam
a blank cheque sacrificing everything that he owned .
was because of vision of these stalwarts that Pakistan was considered a power
to be reckoned with ,ever since it’s inception ,despite it’s tremendous
challenges,as Pakistan’s adversaries knew fully well that Pakistan’s leadership
has galvanized the entire nation into one strong force, which thinks above petty differences and throws full
weight behind their founding leaders.
time progressed this glorious path was
obviously forgotten which resulted in society adopting an extremist approach
with successive rulers using terror, hate and militancy as tools for
safeguarding personal interests in the name of national interest .
Pakistan remained the worst victim as most horrific tragedies were unleashed on
it especially following 1963 [Saneha-e-Thairhi] and onwards,it largely went unnoticed in the
absence of independent media .
recently however the entire Pakistani nation began to come under attack
following 9/11 onwards which served as an eye-opener for a significant number
of people that terror and hate serves no one’s purpose.
However unfortunately,to this day,still,
there are innumerable terrorist sympathizers who believe in blaming the victims
instead of calling a spade a spade .
attention towards this issue has borne
fruit and brought a much needed respite for Pakistani nation Alhamdulillah, but
still there is a long way to go and multi-pronged concerted efforts are
required to consolidate and strengthen the gains made against terrorists .
need of the hour is to embrace the teachings of Ahlulbayt[AS] and work for the
dignity, honour, glory of our beloved country together, ensuring that we are able
to defend rights of every oppressed segment of Pakistani nation in the light of
Maula Ali’s famous saying.
Be an adversary to oppressor and a helper to the oppressed
