Shahadat indeed is the highest blessing and adornment for a momin above
and beyond which there is no other ,goodness , in the light of
riwayat-e-Imam-e-Jafar-e-Sadiq [AS] ...
Zee birrin birrun hatta yaqtulurrajul fee sabeelillaah, fa iza qutila .... .
else could be said for this glory really ?And no other sentence perhaps can encompass
or communicate the entire vastness of the meaning of the glorious concept of
Shahadat . Something whose very literal meaning means bearing witness. That is
when a person is being martyred he is able to view and testify the 'Haq' and
hence the term Shaheed or witness for a person attaining this rank ,as he is an
observer of the sanctified beauty of 'the Creator of heavens and earth
and what ever exists in between ' .
martyr - some one who lays down his life in the way of Allaah - it is not the
end . It neither is beginning of the end. It is just the end of the
beginning for a martyrs, indeed . Hence we see Allaah SWT forewarning us by
saying 'wala taqulu liman yuqtalu fee sabillillaahi amwaata ' i.e that is
a martyr should not be called 'dead' further emphasizing that they are
alive but you do not have the awareness [tash'arun] of their lives.
another place Allaah SWT puts the same subject in even more stricter sense by
saying 'wala tahsabannallazeena.....' instructing not to even 'think' about
martyrs as being dead ,rathey they are alive and get sustenance [rizq] from
also been observed that many prayers [taqeebat] include sentences where
we beseech Allaah SWT by saying words like [be-dam-e-Shohada] ,which also
points out to the uniqueness of Shohada and importance of their sacred blood.
This reverence of the blood of martyrs is also corroborated by the tradition
which points out that Allaah really likes two drops , the drop of blood which
is spilled on the way of Allaah and the drop of tear which flows due to fear of
in prayers like those of namaz-e-janaza we send among others salutations on
martyrs. If we ponder a little we routinely bracket Ambiya ,Mursaleen
,Shohada ,Siddiqeen , Ibadillaahiswaliheen in different prayers .
question is why has a martyr been awarded such ranks and exalted status ?
answer perhaps is easy and not so easy. A martyr lives his or her life in
such a way that his well deserved martyrdom becomes the climax of his
sacred and glorious life . Indeed ,any one whose every moment of life is spent
for attaining the pleasure of Almighty Allaah and attaining nearness to Him
,whose every moment is in the constant confines of His deeply felt Omni
presence will most definitely like to call it a day on an equally glorious and
dignified note .
The discussion regarding the value of Shahadat is a perfect prelude to
explain the personality of Shaheed-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Syed Ali Raza Taqvi RA.
The man who embraced shahadat one year ago this day while confronting the
forces of evil and protesting against the sacrilegious movie by a puppet of
global arrogance, an act which stirred up the emotions and tempers right across
the muslim world .
In different parts of the world muslims raised voice against this
blasphemy and registered protests . Likewise in Pakistan ,the Lovers of Ahlul
Bayt [AS] and the followers of Imam-e-Raahil Imam Khomeini [RA] took the lead
in setting the right tone for the subsequent protests.
The day was important on two counts . It was
a show of exemplary discipline of Shia muslims in particular and their superior
awareness in such a situation as their Ulema-e-Karaam directed the anger
towards the real centre and den of imperialism and her interests. Not just shia
muslims ,but a very large number of Sunni muslims as well as Ulema-e-Karaam
,besides a large number of representatives of minority communities along with their
elders and bigwigs turned up to express solidarity with the noble cause and in
protest against the sacrilegeous act ,which under the law of most sovereign
states constitutes a punishable crime ,something which the mainstream media
never wanted to shed light on .
Pakistan Shia muslims led by Ulema-e-Karaam and members of Socio-Political
fabric of the community took the lead and made some active and coherent
protests in quick succession in Karachi ,Lahore and else where with lot of
symbolism involved. The images of the disciplined protests compelled even the
worst detractors of Shia muslims to heap praises on this community for their
bold and sincere moves. Not just men ,
rather a significantly large number of ladies and children were at the
fore-front of the rally as it left from its starting point at Nomayesh
Chowrangi to move towards US consulate in Karachi .
Journalists were seen
taking snapshots of young children many just months old ,whom their mothers were holding , with
inscriptions on bands on their fore-heads reading Labbayk Ya Rasool Allaah ,some
of the photos later on did lots of rounds of many social networking websites
later on and not just raised the dignity of Shia muslims but also the morales
of entire Ummah. A similar photograph
was seen where a youth was writing Labbayk Ya Rasool Allaah with blood oozing
out of his injured hand on the wall of the consulate. These are some of the vivid
memories that strengthened the image of Shia muslim nation as a disciplined
nation not just in Pakistan but also internationally.
But there is a blue gloomy part too - An aspect of the day which robs us
of much of the joy of so much of symbolic victories of the day and that is the departure
of one of the finest sons of this land ,Syed Ali Raza Taqavi. He is fondly
remembered as a gem of a person who lived his life thoroughly according to the
teachings of Ahlul Bayt [AS] fostering muslim unity, a lifetime humble servant
of Millat-e-Jaffaria Pakistan who spent the golden part of his life serving the
millat in different socio political organizations of Shia community including
Tehreek-e-Jafaria Pakistan and then later on in Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen
Pakistan , a loyal friend and a loving family member.
one of those fortunate Shohada whose sacrifice is recognized and is equally revered by both Shia and Sunni
muslims ,which in itself is a rare thing. His close friends are of the view
that he had an insurmountable will and despite lots of hardships in his life
and financial difficulties he forcefully pursued the path of Ahlul Bayt [AS] .
On this day as the protest rally was about to culminate and reached near
the consulate ,the saviours of the interests of global arrogance started
indiscriminate shelling in a bid to stop the
protesting ladies and children from proceeding towards the den of evil
and imperialism. Moving scenes were witnessed on this occasion as the
protestors defied all such attempts and crossed barricades to register their
protest in front of the consulate. In the meantime a soldier fired a shot from
within the consulate . Deplorable that
the man preferred to shoot a true follower of Rasool Allaah [SAWW] . And indeed
it is here we learn what Imam Hussain [AS]
has said :' Annaasu Abeedaduniya'
The bullet pierced the head of Ali Raza Taqavi who was actively seen in this
protest in front row pictures [which later came ] . As the area was already barricaded
and there was no question of emergent relief for this great man , a video which
later came ,shows children and youth holding the injured Ali Raza ,running to
evacuate him and beating their heads in grief considering him martyred as he
looked unconscious when finally an ambulance comes in the shot .
He was taken to hospital however
was pronounced martyred after some time . His martyrdom is one of such mazlum
martyrdoms ,closing by moments of which were saved by cameras and bear
testimony to his mazlumiat .
This aspect aside , his close associates ,friends and acquaintances
often opine that it was a well deserved martyrdom for the kind of life and the
ideology for which he lived and there is when we are reminded of those
mesmerizing words again 'fauqa zee birrin birrun'
bichrhaa kuch is adaa se ,ke rut hi badal gayee!
ik shakhs saray shehr ko veeran kar gaya!
